Vignoles is a French-American
hybrid developed in the late 19th Century.
Vignoles is a flavorful, semi-sweet wine. Combined with a semi-sweet
finish, the natural acidity helps produce a wine with character, depth
and backbone. It has been compared with an Alsacian Gewurztraminer,
Reisling or a Mosel. Serve with sharp cheeses, spicy foods (try Cajun,
Thai and Indian) as well as pizza.
The taste is reminiscent
of tropical fruit and green apples.
